    Ideas by occasion

Wedding cards: a venue code for each function if they are in different places, an RSVP form for catering numbers, and a live-stream link for relatives who can't travel. Our wedding QR code page goes deeper.

Birthdays: link to a birthday song, a video message from family or a photo album of the year. For a child's party, an RSVP form saves a round of phone calls.

Griha pravesh, naming ceremonies and religious functions: directions matter most, since new homes and smaller venues are often hard to find by name. Use exact GPS coordinates.

Corporate events and college fests: a registration form or agenda, plus a calendar code.

Invitation cards are harder than ordinary paper. Check these with your printer:

    • Finish: gold foil, glitter and heavy textures break up the pattern. Print the code in flat ink on a plain area.
    • Colour: dark maroon or navy on cream works. Gold on red or white on maroon often fails.
    • Size: at least 2 cm wide, and bigger if the link is long.
    • Margin: keep clear space around the code, away from borders and motifs.
    • Proof: never approve a full run without scanning a sample with both an Android phone and an iPhone.

Use the scannability checker on your artwork before sending it to print.

    Word it for every guest

Older relatives may never have scanned a code. Keep the address in text, and add a short line:

    • "Scan with your phone camera for directions"
    • "फ़ोन के कैमरे से स्कैन करके रास्ता देखें"

Keep it working until the day

A location or calendar code holds its details directly. For RSVP forms, videos and albums, the code points at a link, so don't delete the file or change its sharing setting. Choosing to keep these links online also lets guests rewatch the video years later.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I add a location QR code to an invitation card?

Open the Location tab, enter the venue or its GPS coordinates, and download the code. Give the SVG or PDF to your printer and scan a sample before the full run.

What size should a QR code be on an invitation?

At least 2 cm wide on the card, or more if it holds a long link. Test a printed proof.

Can I make a QR code for a birthday wish or song?

Yes. Upload the video to YouTube as unlisted, or use a Spotify or Drive link, then paste the link into the Link tab.

Can I print a QR code in gold on a wedding card?

Foil and metallic ink often reflect light and stop phones reading the code. Use flat, dark ink on a light area and test a proof.

Will the code still work after the event?

Yes. It has no expiry date. Links keep working as long as the video, form or album stays online.

Can guests without smartphones still get the details?

Keep the date, time and address printed in text. A QR code should add convenience and not replace them.
