How to make a TikTok QR code

1. Enter your TikTok usernameType @yourname, or paste the link to a video (Share → Copy link in the TikTok app).
2. Choose colors that scanTikTok's look is black with cyan and pink. Use black dots on white and put the colors in the frame or logo.
3. Add a reason to followChange the frame text to something specific, like "WATCH HOW WE MAKE IT".

Profile or video?

Link to your profile when you want followers: shop windows, business cards, packaging inserts. Link to one video when the video does the selling: a recipe on a food stall, an assembly guide in a product box, a behind-the-scenes clip at an event. A single great video converts better than a profile full of unrelated clips.

Video links copied from the app look like https://www.tiktok.com/@name/video/7351234567890123456 or a short vm.tiktok.com link. Both work; the short link makes a simpler code.

TikTok's own QR code vs. a custom one

The TikTok app can show a QR code for your profile (Profile → ☰ → My QR code), but it has a fixed design and isn't meant for printing at large sizes. A code made here:

• opens your profile or a specific video,
• uses your colors, dot style and logo,
• downloads as high-resolution PNG, SVG or PDF for professional printing,
• works with any phone camera, even without TikTok installed (it opens in the browser).

Ideas that work

Design tips

• Black on white scans best. TikTok's dark style is tempting, but white dots on black (inverted) fail on many phones. Our scan test warns you if a design is hard to read.
• Use your logo, not TikTok's, unless you follow TikTok's brand guidelines.
• Print large enough: at least 2.5 cm (1 in) on packaging and 15 cm (6 in) or more on posters.
• Combine platforms if you're active on several: make one code per platform, or link to a single "all my links" page such as a Linktree (the Social tab supports it).

Measuring results

TikTok Analytics shows profile views and follower growth, so compare the week before and after you put a code out. If you link to your own website first, you can add a UTM tag to count visits from each placement.

Step by step: find your TikTok links

• Profile link: in the app, go to Profile → ☰ → Settings → Share profile → Copy link. Or simply type your @username into the field above.
• Video link: on the video, tap Share → Copy link.
• Live: link to your profile; viewers see the live stream when you're on air.

Troubleshooting

"Couldn't find this account." Check the username for typos and make sure the account isn't private or banned. Private accounts show the profile but not the videos.

The link opens in the browser and asks to log in. TikTok sometimes shows a login prompt to people without the app. The video usually still plays after closing the prompt.

Short vm.tiktok.com links show a "Caution" in safety scanners. Short links hide their destination, so some scanners flag them. If that worries you, use the full tiktok.com link; the code becomes slightly denser but more trustworthy.

Combine TikTok with other channels

If you're on several platforms, make one code per platform and print them side by side with labels, or create a single link-in-bio page. The Social tab supports Linktree links. For shops, a code to an Instagram profile and one to TikTok often reach different age groups.
